BBL® BroadBand Light™
Light-based skin rejuvenation, planned after an individual assessment. BBL uses selected pulses of light for suitable visible pigmentation, redness and uneven tone concerns.
Research from Stanford University has shown regular BBL treatments can influence the expression of genes associated with skin ageing — helping treated skin function more like younger skin, not just look like it.

BBL® is Sciton®'s BroadBand Light technology. Your clinician selects the approach, filters and settings after assessing your skin, goals and suitability.
Selected wavelengths of light are absorbed by pigment, blood vessels and other targets in the skin, which is why one platform can address such a broad range of visible concerns. Your clinician selects the filters and settings that suit your skin and goal.
Areas of focus
BBL Forever Young™ and Forever Clear protocols share the same pricing. BBL consultations are 30 minutes.
Suitability, preparation and care.
BBL, or BroadBand Light, delivers filtered pulses of light selected for specific visible targets in the skin. Depending on the selected filter and protocol, it may be used for suitable visible pigmentation, uneven tone and visible redness.
Light is absorbed by colour within the target, creating controlled heat. Pigmented areas may temporarily darken before fading or flaking, while suitable vessels may gradually become less visible.
BBL is a form of intense pulsed light technology, not a laser. Results depend on individual assessment, skin selection, device settings, treatment course and sun management. The treatment is described in clear, qualified terms.
Forever Clear™ treats acne in three steps: blue light destroys the bacteria that drive inflammatory acne, yellow light calms redness and swelling, and gentle infrared warmth encourages healing and collagen production to help minimise post-acne marks — without medication, and with little to no downtime.
Suitability depends on skin tone, concern, recent sun exposure, medication, health history and the tendency to pigment. A consultation and patch test may be required.
BBL may be postponed or avoided where there is recent tanning, active infection, photosensitising medication, an unsuitable pigment condition or another factor that increases risk.
Pigmented lesions that are new, changing or clinically concerning must be medically assessed before cosmetic light treatment.
Temporary redness, warmth, swelling, darkening of pigment and sensitivity can occur. Less common risks include blistering, burns, prolonged redness, pigment change, infection or scarring.
Follow instructions about sun avoidance, SPF, heat, exercise and active products. Do not pick darkened pigment as it comes to the surface.
BBL may improve the appearance of suitable visible concerns. Results and maintenance needs vary, and no cosmetic treatment can prevent future sun exposure or guarantee a particular outcome.
BBL® + MOXI® together
Two technologies, two layers of skin, one appointment. BBL clears pigmentation, redness and sun damage at the surface while stimulating healthy cellular activity; MOXI works fractionally beneath it, refining texture and building collagen.
Together they address tone, texture, pigmentation and early ageing in a single treatment — most clients see only mild redness, then a few days of a fine, sandpaper-like feel as fresh skin comes through.
The process
Your clinician examines your skin, may recommend imaging, and confirms BBL is the right instrument for your concern.
Skin is cleansed and protective eyewear fitted. A cooling gel keeps the treatment comfortable.
Precise light pulses are delivered across the area. Most sessions take 20 to 40 minutes.
Pigment darkens then flakes away over days. Strict SPF is essential while skin renews.
Recovery
Expect mild warmth and redness for a few hours. Pigmented spots typically darken and shed within 5 to 10 days. Most people return to normal activities immediately.
Questions
How many treatments will I need?
Most plans begin with a series of 2 to 4 sessions spaced about a month apart, then maintenance. Your clinician confirms the number after seeing how your skin responds.
Does BBL hurt?
Most people describe a quick warm flick, softened by contact cooling. No anaesthetic is usually needed.
Is BBL safe for my skin tone?
BBL settings are adjusted to your skin type in consultation, and a complimentary patch test is available where indicated.
What to use at home.
BBL results last longest with daily SPF and pigment-inhibiting home care.
