Plasma Pen
Plasma fibroblast technology for precise tightening of delicate areas: eyelids, crow's feet, perioral lines and more.
Book a consultation
The plasma pen creates a precise micro-arc of plasma energy that tightens skin point by point, making it uniquely suited to small, delicate areas where lasers and needles are harder to use.
It is a considered treatment for hooded eyelids, crow's feet, upper-lip lines and frown lines, with results that develop as the treated area renews.
Areas of focus
Plasma treatments carry real downtime; your consultation covers healing honestly before you book.
Suitability, preparation and care.
Plasma Pen creates a controlled thermal injury at multiple points across the treatment area. This is intended to produce local contraction and a healing response, but it also means visible crusting and recovery are expected.
The treatment should not be described as a simple lunchtime alternative. Suitability, operator training, infection control, pigment risk, scar history and the ability to follow strict aftercare all require careful discussion.
Treatment may be unsuitable or require medical clearance where there is:
- A darker skin tone with increased risk of pigment change
- A history of keloid or abnormal scarring
- Active infection, cold sores, dermatitis or open skin
- Poor wound healing, immune-related illness or uncontrolled medical conditions
- Medication that affects healing or bleeding
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Recent tanning or inability to avoid sun exposure
- Unrealistic expectations about eyelid, neck or skin tightening
This is not a complete list. Full medical and treatment history is required.
Expected short-term effects include swelling, redness, tenderness and visible carbon crusts. Other risks may include infection, prolonged redness, hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, textural change and scarring.
Crusts must be allowed to shed naturally. Picking, covering the area with unsuitable products or exposing healing skin to sun can increase complications.
Results vary and should not be promised to last a fixed number of years. The degree and duration of visible change depend on the area, skin, treatment pattern, healing and ongoing ageing.
The process
Suitability, downtime and expected results are discussed candidly, this treatment is not for every schedule.
Topical anaesthetic ensures comfort.
Precise plasma points are placed across the area.
Tiny carbon crusts form and shed over about a week; tightening develops over the following weeks.
Recovery
Expect visible micro-crusts for 5 to 7 days and residual pinkness after. Strict aftercare and SPF are essential.
Questions
Is the downtime about a week?
Yes. Plan for about a week of visible recovery so you know what to expect.
How long do results last?
Results from a completed plan typically last years, though skin continues to age naturally.
How do I know which option is appropriate?
An individual consultation is needed to assess your concerns and medical history, discuss appropriate options and explain their benefits, limitations and risks.
What to use at home.
Healing skin wants calm: gentle cleansing, barrier repair and strict SPF.
